About Us

Our friendly and talented staff has one primary goal: to provide excellent oral and maxillofacial care for patients in and around the Knoxville area.

Our practice has been serving patients in Knoxville since 2002. Our licensed professionals are second to none; they are friendly, dedicated and experienced. They pride themselves in staying on the cutting edge of treatment as well as providing a comfortable atmosphere for patients. Our staff is eager to answer any questions regarding your oral and maxillofacial care, so please feel free to contact us and share any special needs or concerns.

Robert D. Jordan, DDS

Since 1972, Dr. Jordan has been committed to providing his patients with the best oral health possible. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry in Kansas City, MO in 1972. He entered the U.S. Army and underwent a Dental Internship and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Training. In 1982, he received his AAOMS Board Certification. While on active duty, Dr. Jordan served as Director of one of the six Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training programs. In 2000, he retired from military service as a Colonel. He then began his practice in Knoxville.

Dr. Jordan is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Associate 2nd District Dental Association, and the Implant Study Group of Knoxville.

Dr. Jordan and his wife, Cyndi, together have eight children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Jordan enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He also enjoys piloting his own plane.  back to top

cyndi_smCyndi Jordan

Cyndi Jordan, our primary surgical nurse, has over twenty-five years of experience in the health care profession. While she began her career as a hospital nurse (including service in the ER), she has specialized in oral surgery for over fifteen years. As a Registered Dental Assistant, Cyndi is accredited for anesthesia assistance and regularly attends dental conferences to keep up-to-date in the field. Her daily duties include  assisting with examinations and surgeries, monitoring patients’ comfort and vital signs, sterilizing and managing medical instruments, and overseeing post-operative care. She has four beautiful children and enjoys reading and taking care of her Great Dane.  back to top

Sherri Silcox has been a surgical technician for five years. Sherri assists Dr. Jordan and Cyndi with keeping X-rays, charts, and equipment organized, and keeping patients happy. As the newest member on the Jordan Oral Surgery team, she’s kept on her toes by the office staff. At home, she has a son, Aidan, who also keeps her busy.   back to top

Vickie Hicks, our office administrator, has worked in oral surgery for fifteen years. She has participated in numerous programs and seminars that focus on how to code and file insurance claims in ways that best utilize patients’ insurance benefits. As the person making your initial appointment with Dr. Jordan, Vickie will be glad to answer any questions you have about surgery or your insurance coverage. With her constant smile and sense of humor, she’s also responsible for keeping the office staff in good spirits. At home, she has a son and a daughter who keep her in good spirits.  back to top

Our patient coordinator, Michelle Phillips, has been in the field of oral surgery for thirteen years. Michelle is responsible not only for scheduling and confirming appointments, but also for preparing patient charts and aftercare instructions. She attends numerous continuing education events that keep her up-to-date in the latest innovations in oral surgery. When she’s not busy with any of those activities, she hones her expertise in playing FarmTown. Michelle and her husband have a son and a daughter.  back to top
